The Wolverine Stack

I Tore My ACL and Meniscus. A Year of PT Got Me Nowhere.

This is the exact thing I used to finally get my leg moving again, and why I'm still on it today.

My Story

Nothing quite prepares you for a major injury at 42

I tore my ACL and meniscus jumping on a trampoline. I had surgery a month later, and it was honestly the hardest thing I'd ever gone through. The recovery was brutal.

Even though I was in great shape before the injury, I had so much muscle atrophy in that leg that I was building from scratch. No matter what I did, I could not get it to wake up. I was seeing a physical therapist, putting in the work, still working out. And a full year later, I could still barely go down the stairs. I couldn't do a single leg extension. Couldn't do a lunge. Nothing.

My left knee right after surgery.

It was awful. I was in pain a lot, the leg would fatigue fast, and I just felt like I should be so much further along than I was. I ended up working with a second physical therapist who helped me build a little more strength, but I kept hitting a wall, the second I loaded any real weight onto that leg, it would scream in pain.

"I couldn't get this leg to wake up. It was frustrating. It was painful. And I kept being told that's just how it is after forty."

That's when I started exploring other methods. A friend told me about the Wolverine Stack, she'd used it to heal her rotator cuff and saw great results. Turns out this isn't new at all, plenty of athletes have quietly used this for years. It's a peptide stack, and it's earned the nickname "The Wolverine Stack" for a reason, Wolverine's whole superpower is regeneration. That's exactly what this does.

So I started using it, and almost immediately, my strength went through the roof. I didn't have pain loading the joint anymore. On the leg extension machine, I went from not being able to do a single rep to several reps, up to ten, by the end of week six, at 55 pounds. It happened fast. I could go down the stairs easily again. I was dancing, running, walking, doing pretty much everything I was doing before the injury.

Ever since the first round, I was able to increase weight like I used to, building strength with ease.

My leg strength, and even the shape of my leg, has kept changing since. I just restarted with a bigger version of the Wolverine Stack, a combination of four peptides instead of two, more powerful. I call it the Mac Daddy. It's called KLOW. I'm already feeling the same things all over again, crazy stamina, faster recovery, less inflammation, and I'm able to push way more weight.

  • May help regulate inflammation around injured tissue
  • Supports new blood vessel formation needed for healing

TB-500

Think regeneration + remodeling.

  • Helps repair cells migrate to injured areas
  • Supports collagen production and deposition
  • Helps with wound and soft-tissue healing
  • Supports tissue remodeling and regeneration

Who's using this combination?

Commonly used by people dealing with: ACL and ligament injuries, meniscus injuries, tendon injuries, rotator cuff and shoulder injuries, tennis or golfer's elbow, muscle strains, chronic joint issues, post-surgical orthopedic recovery, sports and overuse injuries, and persistent injuries that just aren't healing as quickly as expected.

Research is strongest in animal and preclinical models, with some human research around TB-500 and wound healing. The combination itself hasn't been proven in large human clinical trials.

How Regenerative Peptides Boost Healing, Energy & Longevity — BPC-157, TB-500 & GHK-Cu explained

Other Benefits

This combo did so much more for me than just heal my injury

BPC-157 and TB-500 aren't just for one injury, here's what else this stack is known for:

Gut Health

BPC-157 is studied for supporting the gut lining and digestive resilience, not just tendons and joints.

Inflammation Balance

Both peptides are studied for calming an overactive inflammatory response throughout the body.

Whole-Body Recovery

Supports tissue remodeling and physical stress response, not just recovery from one acute injury.

Skin, Hair & Anti-Aging

A lot of people add GHK-Cu next for skin and hair. I go deep on that on my Glow & Longevity page →

Is This For You?

Who actually uses the Wolverine Stack

Most interest in this stack doesn't come from people chasing fat loss or muscle gain directly — it comes from people dealing with an injury, chronic joint pain, or wanting to train and recover like they used to.

Recovering from injury or surgery

Someone rebuilding after a specific setback — a torn ligament, a surgery, a soft-tissue injury that's taking longer than expected.

Trains regularly, wants better recovery

Lifts or trains consistently and wants to bounce back faster between sessions instead of accumulating wear and tear.

Still active, but everything hurts

The one still chasing her kids around, or showing up for every workout, but living with cranky knees, a tight shoulder, or an old injury that never fully healed right. Not looking for a quick fix, just wants her body to keep up with her life again.

"My body doesn't bounce back like it used to"

The catch-all — recovery just takes longer than it used to, and training the same way isn't working the same way anymore.

"I started this because I wanted to recover better. At forty-two, recovery has become just as important to me as training. If I can bounce back from workouts, support my joints, and feel like my body is working with me instead of against me — that's a win."

This reflects promising preclinical and early research, not approved treatment claims. Evidence quality varies by ingredient, and many reported benefits are anecdotal — long-term safety in humans hasn't been established.

Questions I Get A Lot

Recovery, answered

Yes. BPC-157, TB-500, and GHK-Cu are all prescribed only after a licensed provider reviews your intake through EllieMD. Nothing on this page is something you source or dose yourself.

Through a 503A licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy, prescribed by board-certified providers. This is clinical-grade compounding, not research-use material ordered online.

That was actually my exact situation — my ACL/meniscus tear was two years old before I added BPC-157 and TB-500. Your provider will look at your specific history and current function to guide you.

It varies by person and by tissue. I personally saw a meaningful shift in strength within a month, but timelines aren't guaranteed and depend on your protocol, consistency, and starting point.

Many people do — I personally run several peptides concurrently. Your provider helps you sequence and stack based on your specific goals and history.

Many EllieMD products are FSA/HSA eligible. Insurance coverage for compounded medications is generally limited — worth confirming against your plan during intake.

A typical order runs about two months' worth, though your exact amount and dosing schedule is set by your provider based on your health profile and goals. They'll walk you through exactly what to expect once your protocol is prescribed.

Most protocols run a set number of weeks on, followed by a short break before repeating, if your provider determines that's appropriate for you. Your specific schedule comes from your provider, not a one-size-fits-all rule.

Refrigerate as soon as it arrives, and keep it away from sunlight and shaking. Your order will come with specific storage instructions for exactly what you've been prescribed.

Reported effects are generally mild, things like injection site irritation, a headache, mild nausea, or feeling a little more tired than usual. Human safety data on these peptides is still limited, which is exactly why this goes through a licensed provider rather than being something you source and dose yourself.

Yes. Even though your prescription is reviewed by a licensed provider through EllieMD, your primary doctor should know what you're taking so they have the full picture of your care.

Yes, syringes, alcohol wipes, and everything else you need to get started ship with your prescription.

These are given as a small subcutaneous injection, typically in the thigh, the fatty part of the abdomen, or the back of the arm. Your provider walks you through exactly how, and full instructions ship with your order. If you've never done an injection before, it's a lot less intimidating than it sounds.

Yes, this is exactly why a licensed provider reviews your history before anything is prescribed. Certain situations, like active cancer, pregnancy or breastfeeding, an active infection, significant liver or kidney disease, being on blood thinners, or an autoimmune condition, need extra caution or may rule this out entirely. Your provider will screen for this during intake.

Yes, under your provider's guidance. Recovery peptides support tissue repair while GLP-1s support metabolic health and weight management, so a lot of people run them together. Your provider makes sure the dosing and combination make sense for you specifically.
